What is Occupational Therapy?

Pediatric occupational therapy focuses on the foundational components that support development. Pediatric therapists work to promote functional independence in a child’s “occupations”, such as play, self help tasks and school related skills. Flip for Function therapy addresses all areas of development, with specialized expertise in challenges with sensory processing, gross and fine motor skill development, strengthening, motor planning, self-regulation and social skills that may be impacting daily living tasks such as eating, playing, sleeping, dressing, toileting, behavioral and emotional responses, communication, learning or social interactions.

At Flip for Function, we are guided by the desire to treat the underlying cause, not just the symptom, in order to create lasting change and equip your child with the skills necessary to succeed. We believe your child is unique with their own set of strengths and we use those to provide meaningful play and activity to promote maximum engagement and aim to increase self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment by meeting your child where they are and creating a “just right” challenge.
