How Much Does Adaptive Gymnastics Cost?

Let me answer the question that's probably on your mind: How much does this actually cost?

I know pricing can feel like a mystery when you're researching programs for your child. You're comparing options, trying to figure out what fits your budget, and wondering if the investment is worth it.

So let me be transparent about our pricing - and help you understand what you're actually paying for when you choose adaptive programming.

What Adaptive/Inclusive Gymnastics Actually Costs (and read to the VERY end for additional options)

At Flip for Function, here's what our programming looks like:

Group Classes:

  • $130-150/month for once-weekly classes

  • Class size: 4-6 kids maximum with 2 coaches

Private Sessions:

  • $210-325 for once a week sessions (30 or 55 min)

  • One-on-one attention from an OT or specially trained coach

If you’re comparing this to the other local gymnastics gym, I know that might feel like a big difference. Let me walk you through what makes adaptive programming different - and why the investment looks the way it does.

What Makes Adaptive/Inclusive Programming Different (And Why It Costs More)

The price difference reflects a completely different model of care. Here's what goes into adaptive programming:

1. Smaller ratios = Better support

Traditional gymnastics might have 8-12 kids with one coach. We cap classes at 4-6 kids with TWO coaches when needed. That means safer ratios, more individualized attention, and coaches who can respond when your child needs support.

Our staff doesn't just supervise - they consistently interact with your child. They're observing, adjusting, encouraging, redirecting, and genuinely engaging throughout the entire class. It's active coaching, not passive watching.

From a business perspective, this means we need more staff for fewer kids. From a child's perspective, it means they're seen and supported.

We maintain these ratios throughout our small groups, camps and PNO’s!

2. Specialized training and expertise

Our coaches aren't just good with kids - they have training in:

  • Sensory processing and regulation strategies

  • Behavioral support approaches

  • Adaptive equipment and modifications

  • Communication differences and modalities

  • Medical considerations (seizures, feeding tubes, mobility devices)

You're paying for expertise that makes a real difference in how your child learns and grows.

3. Individualization takes time

Every child gets activities modified to their level. We're not teaching one lesson plan to everyone, we're adapting in real-time to what each child needs that day. That requires more planning, more communication, and more skilled coaches.

4. We’re mission driven, not volume driven

We're intentionally small so we can maintain the quality of support we're known for. That means our business model is built differently. We charge appropriately for the level of service we provide, and that allows us to pay our coaches well and maintain small ratios.

How families think about the investment:

When you're trying to figure out if this fits your budget, here are some helpful ways to think about it:

Consider the whole picture

Yes, it's an investment. But look at what your child is getting:

  • Gross motor skill development

  • Sensory regulation practice

  • Social skills in a supportive environment

  • Confidence and self-advocacy

  • Body awareness and coordination

  • A community of families who truly understand your journey

Factor in what it saves: Think about what you've already spent on programs that didn't work out. Classes your child couldn't participate in. Activities that left everyone stressed and exhausted. There's real value in finding something that actually fits - the first time.

If Budget Is a Concern

I completely understand that special needs parenting comes with a lot of expenses. Between therapies, specialists, equipment, and everything else, it adds up quickly.

Here's how we try to help:

  • Sibling discounts when you have multiple kids enrolled

  • Sliding scale fees for families who need financial support

  • Payment plans if breaking up the cost makes it more manageable

  • Flexible scheduling so you're not paying for weeks when you're sick or traveling

  • Trial classes ($20) so you can see if it's the right fit before committing to monthly tuition

Honestly? If cost is the main barrier keeping your family from joining us, I'd love to have a conversation. We've worked with families before to find creative solutions. Just reach out - no pressure, no judgment.

Is It Worth It? Only You Can Decide

Every family's situation is different, and only you know what works for your budget and your child's needs.

But I'll share what parents often tell us after they've been with us for a while:

“I was brought to tears because I felt like we had found something really special. You have provided a safe place for our son to play and learn and grow. You understand him and have the tools to help him and that is something we haven’t been around much. To have a place to bring him that provides him great joy yet so much opportunity to develop his delays, is truly a blessing and I am so thankful for that”

“Literally the best place ever! My daughter started and loved gymnastics with Ms. Morgan nearly a year ago now and it continues to consistently be the highlight of her week. My daughter has special needs, and Flip for Function has not only been inclusive, accommodating, and kind; but through them we’ve been introduced to many other inclusive organizations for our daughter throughout Williamson County.”

“My son is able to confidently participate in gymnastics for the first time because of the care, encouragement and expert guidance he receives from his teachers at Flip for Function. We are so grateful.”
